DIET Nongstoin is located at Nongpyndeng village in West Khasi Hills district, Nongstoin. It became functional in the year 2004. DIET Nongstoin covers three (3) districts- West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills District and Eastern West Khasi Hills district with six (6) Community Development Blocks.

Presently it is the only institute in all the three (3) districts which provides a two years D.El.Ed course to the pre- service student teachers offering academic support as well as educational leadership. DIET Nongstoin also conduct various short-term programmes, educational studies and surveys, development and transaction of teacher education, curriculum development, assessing planning, advising and meeting overall educational needs and aspiration of the districts. DIET Nongstoin offer affordable and high-quality educational services to students of all backgrounds.
